Broadcom has released updates for VMware Workstation Pro for Windows and Linux, the first to arrive since the software became entirely free to use
- Can download and install VMware’s desktop virtualisation software to use for whatever they want
- Workstation Pro or Fusion Pro are available to purchase
- An active license can continue to receive customer support for the duration of their license
VMware Workstation Pro 17.6.2
- First update since the software switched to a free licensing model, VMware Workstation Pro 17.6.2 no longer asks for or offers any kind of input box for a license key during installation.
VMware Workstation Pro 17.6.2 is available to download from today from the Broadcom support portal. To access it, creating a (free) account is required.
Microsoft 365 App Set to Rebrand as Microsoft 365 Copilot Next Month
Microsoft is rebranding Microsoft 365 as Microsoft 365 Copilot in early 2025
- Microsoft 365 is being rebranded as Microsoft 365 Copilot with a redesigned interface, including a new icon.
- The search box will be now be accessible from the home page.
- Microsoft will start rolling out updates to the Microsoft 365 Copilot app in mid-January 2025.
Other UI changes coming to the Microsoft 365 app
- Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, Copilot Pages, and other AI tools will be added to the app list on the left toolbar.
- Some features, including the Back button, My Day, and Help Me Create, will be removed from the app.

- Windows 10 PCs will receive new in-product notifications to educate you about Windows 10 End of Support coming in October 2025. You will be able to learn more about options available and actions you can take to prepare for the move to Windows 11.
